How to Avoid the Inevitability of Hydroplaning

It's inevitable. If you've been driving for a few years, you've probably hydroplaned at least once or twice. Hydroplaning occurs when the weight of your vehicle can't displace standing water fast enough so that your tires make contact with the road. Not only is it something that most drivers have experienced, it's also an experience that most people would prefer to avoid in the future. To help you do just that, here are a couple of tips.

Make sure that your tires have plenty of tread so that, when you find yourself in wet conditions, your tires are properly equipped to deal with it. You should also avoid using the cruise control, and you should drive about 10 miles below the speed limit.

If the tread on your tires is getting low, come to Star Volvo Cars Greensburg. We'll be happy to help you pick out a new set and put them on for you.
