Driving Safely as the Rain Makes the Road Surface Wet

The driving conditions get more dangerous as the highway gets soaked from the rain, so today we wanted to pass along a few tips that could help keep you safer on the road.

The tires on your car are going to require more distance to bring the vehicle to a stop when the roads are wet. To avoid hitting another vehicle, the best thing to do is get into the habit of allowing even more space than usual with cars in front of you.

If the car does start to slide, don't panic. The worst thing to do is hit the brakes in a slide. If the car feels like you are losing control, just begin steering in the same direction and the vehicle will eventually correct itself.

When you stop and see us at Star Volvo Cars Greensburg, our team will inspect the tire treads for any issues that can increase sliding.
